Dear Friends, Our big event this week is a house concert with Light Travelers Saturday, March 29 at 7:00 in one of the apartments at Blue Star Art Space, 1414 S. Alamo, San Antonio, 78204. It is in Apt 111, the home of Bret and Cindy Lortie, and it is open to the public. Everyone is invited. Bret is the minister at First UU Church, and Cindy is a teacher at Circle School. They are some of our favorite new friends. Blue Star is in the King William area, across the street from Pioneer Flour. There will be plenty of parking in the main parking lot. Walk behind the tall apartment building, and look for 111. Suggested donation for the band is $10 to $15, and please feel free to bring snacks and finger food to share. Light Travelers is the five piece band Kevin and I play in with three other singer/songwriters: Kit Holmes, Janet O'Connor, and Chris Pfeiffer. We play original music written by the five of us. We all consider ourselves "New Thought" songwriters, which means we intend for our music to do the world "a world of good." To read our complete bio and see our very bizarre band photo, go to www.lewisandclarkmusic.com and click on the "Light Travelers" link in the list on the upper right side of the page. (Is it REALLY a picture of the five of us suspended from the ceiling? Reply to this message if you can guess how it was done.) Also, Light Travelers has a brand new MYSPACE page: www.myspace.com/thelighttravelers. Check it out! You can listen to some of our music and leave us a message. You can even become one of our first friends! As always when we play with Light Travelers, we will be doing some of our favorite songs, as well as surprising each other and the audience by including some songs we have not played before in concert. We know that by keeping it interesting for ourselves, we will keep it interesting for you. Please join us. A house concert is the perfect opportunity to listen with full attention to the music, and I am pleased to say that Light Travelers music is well worth listening to that way. We expect to have the new Lewis and Clark CDs by then! Songs included are: Welcome the Wonder, Even on a Bad Day You're a Child of God, Disguised As Poetry, Soon He'll Take Flight, We Are Unlimited, Simply Divine, Let's Be Friends, You Resurrect Yourself, Anger Can Be So Seductive, We Are the Answers to Our Prayers, You Just Might Be Surprised, We Can Bring About What We Sing About, The Power of Intention, and God's Invited Guest. The CDs will be on sale at all our gigs for $15, and you can order them from our website: www.lewisandclarkmusic.com for $17. We now have accompaniment tracks for the new CD for sale. Everything is there but the vocal, so you can sing along with our music without having to try to drown me out! This is handy if you want to have full band accompaniment when you use the songs in a performance, or if you just want to play karaoke at home We also have songbooks ($15) with all the songs as piano/vocal arrangements. Our T-shirts are $10, and they have a slogan that is the title from one of our songs: Even on a bad day, you're a child of god. S, M, L, XL, and 2XL in red, blue, or black. Sometimes there's a light at the end of the alley, and sometimes there's a black hole. The point is, you don't get an adventure in music unless you're willing to take chances.
