Even on a Bad Day You're a Child of God
Welcome the Wonder
Disguised As Poetry
Soon He'll Take Flight
We Are Unlimited
Simply Divine
Let's Be Friends
You Resurrect Yourself
Anger Can Be So Seductive
We Are the Answers to Our Prayers
You Just Might Be Surprised
We Can Bring About What We Sing About
The Power of Intention
God's Invited Guest

Even On a Bad Day You're a Child of God

Copyright Dana Clark 2006

You panic 'cause you overslept.  You rush through your chores
You race out of the house and slam your thumb in the door
Then you pull into traffic just a little too slow
The pile-up leaves your crumpled car in need of a tow
You hitch a ride to work and find you've just lost your job,
Remember, even on a bad day you're a child of God

CHORUS:  Oh, even on a bad day (Echo:  Even on a bad day
Even on a bad day (Echo:  Even on a bad day
Even on a bad day....You're a child of God

You go to dinner with some folks you hope to impress
You cut your hair.  You buff your nails.  You dress for success.
The ritzy place in town is where they take you to eat.
But somehow you'd forgotten that the dinner's dutch treat
They all order caviar.  You can't afford cod.
Remember, even on a bad day you're a child of God

CHORUS

Your allergies are acting up.  You cough and you sneeze.
The neighbors treat you like they think you have some disease
Except for that one person who has stolen your heart
Who shows up at your door holding a nice get well card
And then hands you a big bouquet of fresh golden rod
Remember, even on a bad day you're a child of God

CHORUS

In a sophisticated world you always feel like a clod
Remember, even on a bad day you're a child of God
There's races to be won but all you ever do is plod
Remember, even on a bad day you're a child of God
When everyone who's normal thinks that you're pretty odd,
Remember, even on a bad day you're a child of God

CHORUS

I WILL WELCOME THE WONDER

Copyright Dana Clark 2006

CHORUS: I will welcome the wonder
I’ll embrace the mystery
I know that there’s a world beyond what my human eyes can see
I will accept the gift of every miracle I’m shown
Though my mind may never grasp the truth my heart has always known
I will welcome the wonder

What is sacred is a secret that no one can ever share
But every soul can find it in the silence of a prayer
And in that silence deep a single word would be too much
And all the words in all the world could never be enough

CHORUS

In every soul there is a light that cannot be defined
The spark divine we know it shines in all of humankind
Beyond reason we discover one eternal truth remains
It is no less profound because it cannot be explained

CHORUS

Every single person would describe God differently
The different words we use might make us think we disagree
But my God is the only God, and that’s my rightful claim
The same God others rightly call by many other names

Disguised As Poetry

Copyright Dana Clark

Most of us have wondered how the universe began
Some claim a cosmic accident
Some say a holy plan
The facts alone will never fill the hunger of our hearts
We long to comprehend this world of which we are a part

CHORUS:  With parable and metaphor the ancient tales are told
As we listen all the wisdom of the past unfolds
A myth is humankind's response to boundless mystery
Each story bears a seed of truth disguised as poetry

The people near the islands say the world began with waves
People near the sun say it was light their god first gave
Many souls in every age who've tried to understand
Found comfort in believing we were made by loving hands

CHORUS

When children ask their questions they deserve to hear the truth
So we must find a way to make the oldest stories new
And they need time to question, time to wonder on their own
For there are many answers they can only find alone

CHORUS
